Happy Fathers day to my sweet Chad, his first fathers day of many to come! My Dad is no longer with us here physically, but I still think of him often. I look at Lucy and know he would have been in love with her. I remember he use to make us breakfast every Sunday morning. After he and my mom were divorced, he would make frozen pancakes and as time went by his cooking improved, to french toast and matzi brie. I think we all remember his turkey chili he made with lunch meat. It make me smile to remember the time he grilled sausages inside, and every time he would leave the kitchen China the pug would come out seconds later with it in her mouth, it took 3 times to realize that the grill was angled and it would slowly roll off onto the floor. He was a good dad, he made sure we were able to do many things, and exposed us to culture, art and traveling. I feel lucky to think that if it wasn't for him I truly wouldn't be were I am today. love you dad.

Summer
Let's see, last weekend we had lots of family in town. Tasha and Nicole were in a triathlon. Kim came up and hung out for the weekend too. Lucy is officially mobile. She has been army crawling all over the house. It's fun to watch her drag herself around and try to get into everything. I don't think the dogs are too happy about it. Frank not longer lets her paw at him, he's a bit of a runner when it comes to her. Sammy on the other hand likes to try and stand her ground, Lucy will try and grab at her and the will show her teeth and growl. Little stinker. Lucy is also feeding herself finger foods. We started yogurt and cheese. She is a big fan of yogurt, can't get it into her mouth fast enough. She also is about to have two more teeth! The top latterals are coming in.
Happy Fathers Day to Chad! We went for a picnic in the park with his family last night. The weather was beutiful, and is always nice to spend time with family.

8 months old
There has been lots going on! I've had a birthday, I'm now 28, it's funny, because I don't feel any older. I still feel so young, I have to double check with Chad to make sure we're not just playing house. But now that I think of it playing house never included all the chores, like dishes or laundry.
We also celebrated our 7 year anniversary, in some ways if feels like its been longer. It's weird to remember times when we were single. I'm sure that in a few years we will look back and say the same about Lucy. A good friend of ours took her off our hands for awhile yesterday so we could celebrate. We went to the golf course and played at the driving range for a little while and then played 9 holes. It was much needed couples time. Chad is a good teacher, I think I did better on the actual course than on the range. It was a nice day.
Lucy is 8 months old today, I know I keep saying it but time sure does fly. She had tooth number 5 pop up about a week ago. She is always so happy and talks all the time, she has something to say about almost everything. She is so observant, I have been hiding the dish scrubber in the other side of the sink so she won't suck on it, and the other day durring bath time she pulled herself over to the edge of the sink and looked for the scrub brush. I guess I better find a better hidding spot. She has also decided that she only needs two naps, and with that it has made her start sleeping for 7 consecutive hours! It's amazing to experience that much sleep all at once! I had forgotten what that feels like. She is still close to crawling, I think her motivation is trying to get the dogs. She loves to watch them and is always smiling to them.

Summer's almost here
It's been a great week...or two. I've been wondering if Chad's been slipping Lucy miracle grow behind my back. She is growing and changing right before my eyes. I am always so thankful she is such a good baby, and she has a great easy going spirit.
She's SO close to really crawling, she can get around already but is still mastering the crawl. She has figured out how to splash in the "tub," she makes a huge mess and has such a good time doing it. She now has 4 teeth and seems to be working on number 5 and 6. She is also a little cord charmer, kind of like a snake charmer, I can put her in the middle of the room and some how she will find a cord! I think she will talk early, She seems to "talk" all the time. Her latest sound is like a whistle on a teapot, it might be higher, the dogs bark.
I have to say I love her summer clothes! Its kinda of a bitter sweet thing, they make her look older but its so cute to see all her rolls! It makes me want to bite her little arms.
She and Frankie seem to be getting closer. She grabbed his coller the other day, and he dragged her a couple feet. It was pretty funny, he looked very confused and she loved it, thought it was so much fun.
She figured out how to play peek a boo the other night. She was in her crib and pulled a blanket onto her self and wiggle in excitement till I pulled it off and then she would laugh and laugh, she was entertained for almost an hour. So cute!

Mothers Day
Mothers Day has not been a holiday that I've looked forward to in many years. In fact I have to admit it was one that I would have gladly ignored. This year was much better. I got to spend the day with family and most important my little Lucy. I feel so blessed to have her. She is such a good baby, and though this might be the calm before the storm, I will take it.
I was told by many people that I would know what it means to love unconditionally and I have to say that they are right. Having a baby has also given me respect for my body. I realize how miraculous our bodies really are.To be able to produce a perfect little baby and go back to functioning again.
I look at her daily and think to myself how blessed I am to be able to be with her. There are times I am so over whelmed by her cuteness.
Its amazing to watch her grow and learn, to watch her play and try to communicate.I love being a mom, from the sleepless nights to the poopy diapers, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Baby days
Seems like Lucy has grown so much in just a couple of weeks. She has stopped taking her pacifier and is done with a bottle, and just a couple of days ago her first top tooth popped thru. (YAY) She has been funny when I put her down for her naps she'll roll around and play with her toys for 5-10 mins and then fall asleep. She has also figured out how to turn her aquarium on and off. I got up last night to feed her at 2am and she had turned it on!
We have replaced the bottle with a sippy cup. She is still getting use to the cup since the milk comes out so much faster. She is almost crawling. She wiggles, squerms and rolls herself around, the dogs better start to watch out.

7 Months
Lucy figured out how to get around her toy this week it's pretty cute. She has also started getting her top teeth in. She has gone back to getting up twice a night (boo). She is no longer happy to shop in her car seat. As soon as we stop to go inside she is arching her back and trying to get out of her seat. She loves sitting in the shopping cart and looking around.
