Lucy started dance class, Its a 45 min ballet and tap class. It seems to be perfect, they get to focus on each dance and its just short enough that she doesn't lose interest. She had a friend in her class and She seems to be catching on pretty quickly.
She's been able to write her name for a while now and likes to write random letters and tell me what it says. I went through all her coloring books and stuff while she was at her dad's house and found 8 completely colored, coloring books! I'm going to go broke keeping her in art supplies! I love it! She loves to color, draw and write, and its so good for her little brain and other little skills.
She is a grateful little thing. I will get her something new- anything and days later she will randomly say "thank you so much for -insert item here-, I love it! Thank you!" I love it. I love that she is aware of new little things in her life and expresses gratitude.
She is getting so tall! I keep looking at her and I don't see a baby or even a toddler, She is a little kid.
I love the games she makes up, I don't always love trying to play with her...she will hand me a pony or princess and say make her talk mom! And I am so not creative in the land of imagination... normally I say its a nice day or you're so cute or hi, how's it going. Sometimes she will tell me what I should day, tired nights it makes playing with her much easier.
She also likes me to color with her. I love it!
Her favorite food is still mac n' cheese, kid clif bars, chocolate yogurt and broccoli.
Lucy is continues to love her ponies, princesses and Frank. She asks me almost daily for an Ariel doll with a tail. I keep telling her I will trade her 3 dry morning diapers but she has yet to deliver.
She is really good at helping me and doing little chores around the house and cleaning her room.
She is almost always happy, and the bright spot in everyday.

Salt Lake City
We Drove down to Utah, last Thursday. We stayed at Nicole and Frank's new house in Layton.
Friday morning we headed to the Zoo with some of the clans. It was pretty cool, I hadn't been to the Hoggle zoo since elementary. I didn't really remember any of it. They had lots of animals that he Boise zoo doesn't and vise versa. Which was pretty cool. It was hot and I kind of forgot to take pictures. The kids rode on the Merry-go-round. Lucy got to ride the "baby" giraffe, I had to ask a mom if she would mind letting her sit on it instead of her baby...She was nice.
After that we got rainbows at Pace's, and barbecued later that night, and played some train game.
The next morning we were up early and ready to race! There was some confusion with kids start time. So we raced around and left the house and hour-ish earlier than we had thought. Only to find our that the web site was wrong so we had plenty of time.
We did the kids race first. At first Lucy was very excited and wanted to run. I think that once she saw the start line and all the kids she started getting nervous and wanted me to hold her. We started to run! and then came to the first obstacle, under a cargo net. Lucy unhappily followed me while calling me. The second obstacle was crawling in mud under wire, very unhappy little girl, didn't want to get dirty, she very carefully followed me. We then ran to the walls which I helped her over and It seemed we were in the clear, until she slipped on the last wall, I caught her and she didn't want to finish, I told her we had to finish what we started so we ran some more while she told me she couldn't do it. We then came to the "rolling mud". She literally took on look and said "I'm not doing that" turned around and started running the opposite way. Daniel to the rescue, he asked her if she wanted to sit on his shoulders and go through it with him. And she complied. She also told him she was helping to hold him up while the crossed the mud. She ran the last few yards, walked the balance beam and collected her metal, clifbar, banana and water. And said "that was so much fun! I wanna do it again" Funny girl-
After her race Frank, Daniel and I went to start our own race. I was hot! And it totally kicked my butt! The race started with some adult size rolling mud and then had us climbing up the mountain, the kids and Nicole waited for us towards the end of the first round of obstacles. Lucy said good job and gave us high fives. They got to go enjoy some A/C and lunch while we went on with our course and then met up with us at the end, watched us finish our last four obstacles.
After the race we hit In n' Out. Took Emma home and passed out at Nicole's house.
It was a fun weekend and I think we are both worn out! I'm anxious to see what next years race will bring.

June
Here comes summer!
What can I say that I haven't already!? Lucy is a happy little girl. She is well behaved and pretty mellow and even, for the most part. She loves My Little Ponies and anything Princess or pink, She loves her family.
Seems like it has been non-stop for this little girl. Disneyland, cousins, wedding, grandparents, Jerome. Its nice to finally have a day where we don't have to be anywhere or do anything.
I asked her what she would like to do, told her we could do anything she wants today. Her reply was "lets go to the bank and get me a sucker" What can I say she's easy to please.
She is always singing. The little Mermaid is the most recent addition to the princess movies. She has Part of your World almost memorized and can belt it out and get rather dramatic when singing the end of the song. Its crazy how quickly she picks up new songs.
I love how independent she can be. She gets herself dressed and feeds Frank in the morning. She buckles herself in her car seat and can get snacks and water out of the fridge, I love it when she tries to take care of me by bringing me snacks.
I always get a kick out of listening to her play, ponies, princesses or anything else.
Her most recent saying is, "It's dead" or "I'm dead". I was trying to figure out where she would have picked that up and then heard her trying to get Frank to be dead...oh... Thank goodness that explains a lot!
One of my favorite things is how happy she normally wakes up. She always comes to me with a big smile and says "Good morning!" and will sometimes ask me how I slept.
She learns so quickly and observes everything. Its hard to distract her or make her forget about things.
The other day we were going to church and she found a rollie pollie and held onto it in the car, (I thought it would be a fatality in the car). We got out of the car and she still had it, and wanted to take it into church, I tried to convince her she should leave it outside so it could go home and see its family. But she would not be moved. So I told her to give it to me and I would put it in my bag (threw it in the grass) and she could have it back after church, assuming she would get distracted and not think about it again. After sacrament, I was walking her and her friend to primary, when she whispers to him "My mom had a rollie pollie in her bag!" and he replied "Wow! Really?" Yup... I'm that weird mom with bugs in my bag.
Took her to Pojo's for the first time. It was a success. She loves the merry go round, quarter rides and the games. I went to count our tickets and she put her hands on her hips and said "hey! I wanted those" I explained that we would put them in the machine and then it would print out a ticket we could exchange for treats, and she was pretty down with it.
She and Frank are best buddies. If she is playing he is right there, if she is sleeping he is right there, if she is eating... I put him outside. I am grateful to have such a good dog. He puts up with a lot but he never runs, hides or complains about it.

Disneyland
We went spent Mother's day at Disneyland!
Flew out Thursday morning, it was Lucy's first flight! She was so excited. We were on the plane for maybe 15 minutes when she said to me "I'm done ridding on a plane now". But she was so good. We landed in Orange county, collected our bags, went to the potty and then went to get our rental car, while I was signing the final papers and the cashier was doing all the final paper work. Lucy tells me she has to potty, I told her she had to wait just a few minutes and then I would take her (again) so she started to walk laps around the stroller singing, "when you have to go potty stop and go right away, flush and wash and be on your way" The Hertz guy was amused laughed and told me I could take her and he would finish up.
We got our car and headed to the beach! Where I found Lucy totally passed out in her seat. So I took her out and we sat on the beach for maybe 10 minutes before she announced she was starving! Off to In n' Out we went. While we were waiting for our food the conversation goes like this
Lucy- "Mom, Do you want to talk about Frozen?"
Me- "Sure!"
Lucy-"Isn't Elsa so pretty? With her sparkly dress!"
Me- "Yeah she is"
Lucy- "Its blue, like Cinderella's. I love her"
Make me wonder how this little mind works!
The next morning I had told her that we were going to Goofy's kitchen for breakfast and had anticipated her sleeping in. She stayed up later then usual and was so tired, I even called and pushed our reservation back a little. Around 6 she wakes up and gets really close to my face and whispers in my ear, "Its time for Goofy's Kitchen!". Four hours later we arrived at Goofy's kitchen. She had a blast! The characters came to our table, She met Chip, Dale, Pluto, Mini and Goofy. They came twice, the first time she was nervous and asked for their autographs, the second time she warmed up talked and even gave some hugs. Goofy was off in his corner kitchen, and we saw him last. She was pretty excited. She loved Mini and Goofy.
We met up with the Solomon crew a little later and hit the race expo. It was the biggest race expo I've seen...or been to. Anything and everything you could possibly think of or need for running was there. That night we saw an Angles game, they won.
The next morning we went to the Hollywood Blvd. walked the stars, saw the Chinese theater, hit the farmers market for lunch, had a Sprinkles cupcake and went to the beach. Lucy had a blast, there was tons to see, not to mention she entertained about everyone in the car for a half hour saying "bum-ble bee" For some reason she thought it was hilarious.
Sunday morning, Tasha and I got up at 5 am and headed to the Tinkerbell half marathon! It was crazy, So many people in costumes! We didn't think to bring cash and scored free parking! Way to be unprepared! We ran the coolest race ever through Disneyland and California adventure, And met up with everyone at the finish line. We then headed to Disneyland for the day,
Lucy had a blast! We rode rides and met princesses. Meeting the princesses was pretty cool. Everything this little girl wanted to do, we did it. She was so tired, happy and excited to see everything. It was such a fun day! At the end of the night I had told her we would pick out a toy. She was so tired, but I could tell she was staying awake to pick out a toy! As soon as we checked out and she had the bag in her little fist she fell asleep!
We were suppose to fly home Monday, but there was a delay and we couldn't fly home till Tuesday. Solomon's to the rescue, we got to spend a day at the beach with them!
Some how Lucy stayed awake and happy both plane rides. As soon as she got into her car seat in Boise it was over. We landed at 2 and she slept till 630. We both woke up, ate some dinner and went back to bed! It was such a fun tilled weekend and I'm glad we got to go.
