Snow

It snowed and snowed yesterday, while I was at work. So today we bundled up and went out to shovel the drive way. Lucy loved it. She walked around in it, would bend over and touch it, she'd slip and slide, fall over. She laughed and talked the whole time. When I was done I  dragged her in screaming and wet. She was having such a good time. I think she's going to be a little snow bunny when we get her on some skis.

15 Months, New Years

New Years Eve we went to Jerome, When we got down there Lucy was wild! I think its the wildest we've ever seen her. She would shriek and run back and forth the front room. Stop and get some cocnut puffs from Grandma and then run over to Grandpa  and get a sip of soda. She  figured out that if she didn't eat her meal that she would get some snacks that were much tastier. Lucy also helped organize all the straws in their cupboards, I think Joan will be finding straws all over for the next while.
What else can I say that I haven't already. Lucy is the love of our life. She is now running around. I don't know that either of us have gotten use to seeing her vertical. She likes to carry around shirts, towels and anything fabric related, she seems to favor silky fabrics. You can fin my underwear/garments around the house, and she also likes my purple bra, just that one though.
She has started to sign and sing more. She signs all done and more really well.
The other night she was crying and I walked into her room and she said "Mama, up" it was so sad and sweet. She had her last K9 and molar pop through, well they just barely broke through the skin and are on their way up. So hopefully she gets a little break before the second molars make an appearance.
She still seems to have a special bond with Grandpa Emery, Its fun to watch her follow him around with her mouth open, shes like a little bird. She's figured out that he and Grandma have the "good stuff" weather it be food or soda.
Chad's latest thing is giving her flavored milk. She seems to prefer chocolate. In fact after an evening with her Papa I reached in the fridge, grabbed the white milk and she yelled at me! Little stinker is smart.
She figured out how to open the "child proof" bottle of Motrin, I was doing her hair and looked down, she had not only opened the bottle and spilled half of it but she was sucking on her fingers! Like Father, Like Daughter!
Lucy wasn't in the cooperating mood when I was trying to get a picture of her in her chair, so we played peek-a-boo till I got a decent shot.

Merry Christmas

Lucy started walking on the 20th. She stood up walked across the room smiling and giggling. She'd walk back and forth, down the hall and back. There is no slowing her down now!
She talks so much more, up, dog, cat, done, Dada, Mama. She loves to sing. And look at books, the other day she spent half the day in her room looking at books. I'd go back and check on her and she would be turning pages of a different book.
We went to Jerome for Christmas. On Saturday night we went to the south hills to see the lights, with Dean, Joan, Crystal, Roo and Lily. The weather was perfect. Lucy finally got to see Santa, she wasn't impressed, but she loved the lights. I was so glad we got to go since it will be the last year they will be doing it.
Christmas Eve we opened presents, Lucy loved the paper. She was thrilled to rip and throw and play with it. I think she liked it more than her presents. We got Lucy a bean bag, She loves it. she throws herself into it and sits and looks at books in it.
She loved hanging out with her grandparents. Grandpa gave her soda and Grandma gave her whatever else she wanted.

14 Months, oh my!

Its been a week since her first step by herself and she continues to keep learning. She will stand and walk a step or two and then crawl really fast to wherever she is NO! to everything, I'm pretty sure she knows what it means but then she'll just sit and say it over and over about nothing to no one in particular, so who knows!I think she is going to be an early talker because she already thinks she is talking, and singing. Her newest trick has been trying to ride Frank. (Frank has other ideas) She has also figured out that Dad is the one with the "good" snacks and he will give her sips of  his soda.
She is so cute. If I lay on my stomach on the floor she will come crawl on my back and bounce. And when I get up to give her a ride she laughs and squeals the whole time. One of her other games is to crawl back and forth through the closet, she'll poke her head out of side and giggle and then turn around and go to the other. She is rather good at entertaining herself and anyone watching. She still loves her chair, she will stand up and sit down, crawl and stand on top, and stay happy with it for hours. Who would have thought a chair could make her so happy.

Thanksgiving

We went got to go to a cabin up in Tamarak for Thanksgiving, with Chads parents, Brad and Alicia and his Aunt Anita and family. Thanks goodness it was a big cabin! It was a nice relaxing, uneventful weekend.

In other news, Lucy took her first strps last night! She stood up in the bathroom and walked toward the tub, and you could tell she was very proud of herself. She has also started singing what sounds like " up above the stars so high" she has the tune down, sometimes it is closer than others but needless to say it's pretty darn cute.

Lucy's 1 year pictures and up date

Been busy playing, We went to Utah for a girls weekend last weekend. Got to see everyone. We had a little craft, went shopping, had a nice dinner and played ticket to ride.Good times.
Lucy got four teeth! Two first molors and two top K9s. Wow! No wonder she hadn't been happy little self. She has also decided that she likes to hold on to one hand and walk. She will sit and crack herself up, its so funny. She is curious about everything and tries to touch and climb anything she can. Its amazing to watch her and see how fast she learns things.
Also when Lucy and I visited Natasha and family for Halloween, Tasha and I did a little photo shoot with Lucy, and then Mandi was sweet enough to do some editing on them! And I just got to see them!

13 months

Well Lucy is 13 months old, well onto her way to toddler hood.
Lucy had been a bit fussy the last couple of days and we couldn't figure out what her problem was. She would act tired but wouldn't sleep. she'd act hungry, we'd offer her food and she wouldn't eat. On top of that we found a weird lump on the front of her arm pit. So we took her to the doctor and she has a double ear infection! Poor kid, no wonder she'd been fussy. I guess we can't complain since its the first one in over a year. the Doctor also said that since this is her first on and she's a year old that there is a smaller chance of her getting another one and ever needing tubes. And as for the lump...we had to have an ultra-sound on it and we have to have a second option. But we're thinking/hoping/praying its nothing and will go away on it's own.
Other than that Lucy has been busy as ever. I've been trying to figure out where to take a picture of her every month and decided to try out chair, it was hard to pin her down so I tried her chair and it was a bit harder so we'll have to try again next month and see which will be better.
