Lucy's Birthday!!

This year we went to 1000 springs resort and swam to celebrate the big number 5!
Lucy had a blast and had lots of family come play!
The day of her birthday, she went to school for a little while just to take cupcakes and then we had some fun at home!

September

More summer lovin this month!
We went to the park/pond. I thought Lucy would like the water since we finished up swim lessons. Not sure I could have been more wrong...there was a lot of screaming and her standing in the mud. Yay for new adventures. We hit up Delsa's for ice cream and that seemed to fix it all.
We have gone on a few runs, but she is big and harder and harder to push in the stroller. But I love the company and endless commentary on those around us. For instance "Why are those people walking? Are they lazy cause they can't run"...says the kid riding in the stroller.
We went to Kimberly for the weekend. Its always fun hanging with the Solomon's. We went to the fair and after telling Lucy we were going to the rodeo and to look at animals and not for the rides. Aunt Tasha told her we were riding rides too! She had a blast. I'm glad Aunt Tasha isn't the stick in the mud I am...hehehe

August

Summer had been great!
Lucy started swim lessons! The first week was a little rough. She was reluctant to get into the water and wouldn't listen to her teachers, one of the days I even had to place her in the water. I took her to the pool that weekend for some mom and Lucy swim time and with in an hour she was jumping and and letting me help her float.
Seems like we've been busy having fun, went to the park, pool, movies and Roaring springs. ( I haven't taken many pictures this month)
Roaring springs was a blast. Lucy was scared of the kiddie slides but by the end of the night was walking as fast as her little legs could carry her up to the top.
Her recent thing is to draw food, animals and accessories, cut them out and play with them. I have only once caught her trying to cut her hair...I may or may not have had a tiny freak out....needless to say we had a long talk and I haven't seen it happen again.
Lucy and I have been working on some writing and math. She's a pretty smart kid.
This little girl is growing up way to fast. I have a love hate relationship with how independent she is!

July

I think I start every post wondering where the time goes... so... seriously, where does the time go?
We've been busy having fun!
Lucy, Kaycee and I ran the Boise Spartan! Lots of fun! Lucy actually loved her race this year! It took my some coxing to get her into the mud and water but other then that she ran, hopped, climbed and smiled her way to the finish line. And at the very end announced that the slippery mud was her favorite!
We made a visit to the zoo. She likes feeding the goats this year and wants to know the names of all the animals... Some of them have some funky names.
There has been lots of running through the sprinklers and playing in her pool.
She still loves to check on the chickens and make sure they are happy.
I found a wagon on craigslist and took her to buy it. When I paid the guy I had only small bills and she looked at him and said " He's taking all our money!" He stopped counting the money and looked at me. I really wish I would have played it off a but better but I explained we got the wagon so he needed to give him some money. So far we've done some grocery shopping in it and its been a good thing.
Fourth of July was on a Monday, We had a nice relaxing day. We walked to the grocery store, bought some fire works, went to a movie, and just had a nice easy day. I thought she would like sparklers, because at Kaite's wedding she totally dug the sparkler send off. but she was not a huge fan-

Lucy quotes of the month
"The chickens are out with the dogs! There's gonna be blood!"
( no chickens or dogs were harmed)
"Boy chickens lay chicken nuggets and girl chickens lay eggs"
