13 months

Well Lucy is 13 months old, well onto her way to toddler hood.
Lucy had been a bit fussy the last couple of days and we couldn't figure out what her problem was. She would act tired but wouldn't sleep. she'd act hungry, we'd offer her food and she wouldn't eat. On top of that we found a weird lump on the front of her arm pit. So we took her to the doctor and she has a double ear infection! Poor kid, no wonder she'd been fussy. I guess we can't complain since its the first one in over a year. the Doctor also said that since this is her first on and she's a year old that there is a smaller chance of her getting another one and ever needing tubes. And as for the lump...we had to have an ultra-sound on it and we have to have a second option. But we're thinking/hoping/praying its nothing and will go away on it's own.
Other than that Lucy has been busy as ever. I've been trying to figure out where to take a picture of her every month and decided to try out chair, it was hard to pin her down so I tried her chair and it was a bit harder so we'll have to try again next month and see which will be better.

November Already!

Where to start! Seems like we've been partying none stop the past couple of weeks. Chad's new job has been going well.I got some new crowns on my teeth. and Lucy, where to start with Lucy? She is busy, busy, busy. She has been saying mama, dada, u-oh, no-no and up.
She is mostly happy. I love her giggles and laughter. When chad tickles her and steps back I love the way she wiggles in excitement when he just looks at her like he might come back and tickle her some more. I love that she waves to the dog. I love that she says u-oh when she drops things. Lately she tries to mimic what you say. Today she would hand me something and I would say "thanks" and then hand it back and say "here you go", and she would try and say "thanks" and "go".
I love her hugs, and cuddles, even the 2 in the morning cuddles. When she wakes up crying and all she wants is to be held close. It's so funny when she is into something like the dog food and I say no-no and she drops it and crawls away as fast as she can giggling. I love the way she inspects new objects and toys and the way she checks out a person before she decides to smile at them to to act shy. I love when she looks down at something, she lifts her chin and looks over her cheeks. I love that she is so happy to greet me when I come home from work, and how she follows chad around when he gets home. She will even stand at the edge of the tub while he showers and "talk" to him.
I love how she sits up in her car seat and looks out the window, and when she falls asleep, and the harness holds her up. It still makes me smile when she packs toys around in her mouth like a little puppy, I know she learned that from Frank.
More recently,we went to trunk or treat with Brad and Alicia, Curtis and Crystal and Dean and Joan, and the girls. Had lots of fun. Lucy was a cat/panda. It was a cute furry cat costume, but it kinda looked like a panda. Chad took her around to the cars and she fell asleep.
Lucy and I went to Kimberly for Halloween, and my dentist appointment. I took Lucy around with Luke and Anna. Tasha and girls were all Greek goddesses, and Korey was Zuse. Frank was a piolet and Luke was an airplane and I can't remember who nicole was but it all went together, very cute.

Lucy Time

We had Lucy's wellness/shots appointment this week. She is 19.6 lbs, and 29.5 inches tall/long? So she is in the 25% for weight, 75% for length and 50% for head size. She had lost some of her rolls now that she is so active, she only has the two on the top of her little thighs. She was not very impressed with the doctor, little grumpy guss. The day after was the first time she has ever been "sick" high fever and just so sad. I know we can't complain since she has been so healthy, and I think we are lucky since she just sat on our lap, cuddled and dozed on and off, and it only lasted a couple days and she was back to eating everything, and pretty happy.
Tonight Lucy figured out the stairs. We have three stairs out the back door, and they kept her entertained for at least an hour, She went down the forward which was a bit scary and the backward which seemed a bit better. She was so funny, she went in and out a few times before she realized she was outside and then she chased around the Mitten for a while till he got board and went inside. Best part was she wore herself out! Can't believe how fast she is growing!

Lucy's First Birthday

Happy Birthday Lucy!
Wow, what a year. I think we are getting use to having a kid, lol. It's seems like she has always been part of our lives and its all so new at the same time. It's fun to think of all the changes, toys on the floor, covers over the outlets, car seat bases in the cars, driving during nap times, kid proofing the drawers and cuboards, keys missing on the computer, asking for high chairs, I could go on and on, but I wouldn't change on thing. I love to hear her laugh and when she pants like a dog when shes up to no good. She has recently started to flle the scene when she knows she shouldn't be doing something. I could still sit and watch her sleep all night, that is if I wasn't so tired! Its funny that she still gets crazy legs when shes up set or real happy, it looks like the "worm" only on her back.
Lucy turned one on Thursday, and we celebrated in Jerome on Saturday. We had a big cupcake party at Curtis and Crystals house. Everyone came out to play and show their love for Lucy.
She is constantly on the go. Pulling out books in her room and before I can put those away she is out in the kitchen pulling our all my Tupperware and towels. She either plays tug-a-war with Frank or kicks him out of his bed and sits in it and laughs and laughs she thinks its so funny. If the door to the T.V. room is open we can find her in there on the couch playing with the remotes. She is totally obsessed with turning on the xbox, she gets her hands on the remote, presses buttons and watches the box to see if it turns on.

Lucy Days

Lucy is always playing in my baking cupboard. Whenever I am in the kitchen for longer periods of time she can be found there taking things out and putting them back, or taking everything out so she can climb in. She also just discovered that she can open drawers and has taken over the bottom junk drawer as her own, she likes to climb into it and throw everything out of it. So these two areas of my kitchen are Lucy proof.
I was making dinner and ran to the bathroom for a minuet. When I came back I found Lucy stuffing her face with hand fulls of white chocolate chips! She was pretty proud of herself, appearently I need to do a better job "Lucy proofing" my kitchen. Love her so much!

September

Totally forgot to post this sooner! Crystal and Roo came to stay while passing through on their road trip the weekend of the 8th and Lucy crawled over to Roo and said "hello"! She has also started climbing...one everything, and is quite the problem solver when she wants to get to something. The other day I watched her crawl up on the fireplace, onto the hope chest and over to the chair.Though she seems to prefer the wooden one that Great Grandpa Emery made her. She will stay entertained for hours, standing up on it and looking around, sitting on it side ways sitting on it with her legs off the front like a big kid, eating her snacks on it climbing on to the table from it, or even better into her toy basket from in. Its a good thing Grandpa Emery made it so solid.
I was watering the trees and bushes outside, and Lucy watched the water and the hose and would crawl on her hands and feet to wherever I was watering. It was pretty funny. After awhile she put her hand out and would try the grab at the water, so I took the pressure spout off and handed her the hose. She was so cute she would hold the hose and watch he water at first and then she let the water run on her feet and slowly she started to get wild with it. She would whip it up and splash her face and look at me in surprise, and the do it again. Then when the water had kinda pooled around her she kicked and kicked and moved her legs around and would try and splash. Its so fun to watch her figure things out and play. It reminds me to appreciate the simple things in my life.
Other news, kind of sad news. We found Shammy a new home. She just couldn't help herself when it came to biting Lucy. We thought that after awhile she would get better but she just wouldn't stop. She went to live with a friend of mine, where she will be and only child/dog and she will be loved. She was a sweet little dog and I really am sorry to see her go. And as a side note I still cant keep Lucy out of the dog kennel! (also the last picture, she totally got in there by herself and closed the door!)
